The Lions have been informed that they will be playing an international game in 2026
The Lions are going out of town. Far out of town
Welp, we knew this day would come, didn’t we? For years, the Detroit Lions have been expanding internationally and securing global marketing rights in new countries.
With that comes the expectation that the Lions will be playing an international game. Now we know that will happen next season, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
The Lions have been informed that they will be playing an international game in 2026
There you go. As Birkett notes, the country they will play in is unknown, but you have to believe it’s Germany for multiple reasons. The Lions have done a lot to grow their presence over there in recent years. They have their own German Lions account. Roary can often be seen there.
They also have a German version of Roary named Leo Lowe. Amon-Ra St. Brown was just there this summer with Kalif Raymond and Craig Reynolds, shooting videos with German soccer teams, and of course, St. Brown is a big star in Germany. It just makes way too much sense to ignore.
This week, the NFL also announced that, in addition to the game it held in Berlin this year, it will add a game in Munich. That could be the Lions game right there. We’ll update you as soon as we know what’s happening.
