What the Lions’ playoff picture looks like after loss to the Rams, Lions got some things to go their way
Where the Lions playoff hopes stand after loss to the Rams
The Detroit Lions are still very much in the playoff race, and while a win over the Los Angeles Rams would have been huge, they still walked away from Sunday with some things going their way.
Lions have a 27% chance to make the playoffs
The Denver Broncos’ beating the Green Bay Packers helped the Lions. Even if Green Bay holds the tiebreaker over them. The Saints beating the Panthers killed the possibility of a second NFC South team working their way in.
The big problem is that the Lions have zero room for error now. They have to win the last three games of the season. One loss and it’s over. They also need some things to happen for them.
Next week can bring some big changes for the Lions. If they can beat the Steelers, their chances go up to 34%. If the Packers can sweep the Bears, the Rams beat the Seahawks, and the Colts beat the 49ers, their chances go up to 42%. So the Lions’ season is not over, it’s just hanging on by a thread at the moment. That thread is thick, though. It’s like yarn as opposed to your usual string.
