When Tom Brady joined the New England Patriots, he was ready to get started.

And Drew Bledsoe immediately took notice.

“He was like an eager little puppy. From the minute he got there, he was always super positive and upbeat," Bledsoe said on "The Dynasty: New England Patriots" Episode 1: Backup Plan. "Sometimes annoyingly so. And so we would prank him a little bit. Sort of a right of passage.”

So Bledsoe and the team came up with the perfect way to mess with him.

“So FBI, if there is going to be a bank robbery and they think there is going to be a bank robbery, they have this special dye that they put on the money. And you can’t see it at all until it gets slightly wet. So just a little perspiration on your hands and then it’s permanent," Bledsoe explained." So we were able to lay our hands on some of this FBI stuff and we filled Tommy’s socks full of it. He goes out to practice. His feet sweat. He comes back in and his feet are bright purple… for weeks.”

When remembering this story, Bledsoe still shared a laugh at their shenanigans.

All Brady had to do was make it through one year of that.

“We were like, “Hey this guy’s just a rookie. We’re going to treat you like sh** for a year and then you’re on the other side of it," Bledsoe said.

And you got to admit, that prank with the purple dye is pretty clever.

As for Brady, he had the perfect response when asked about the bit of rookie hazing.

“All my teammates, they helped me grow up," Brady said. "I went in there as a little punk a** kid and they brought me into their squad.”
