The New Orleans Saints caught plenty of doubt when they chose to release veteran cornerback Bradley Roby before this season began.

Roby is an experienced starter and played in the slot for New Orleans last year. Ultimately, they chose youth and moved on from him, saving a bit of money against their cap, too.

The Philadelphia Eagles are picking up Roby after he worked out for the team on Tuesday.

For the Saints, Alontae Taylor is manning the slot when everyone is healthy. Roby had his fair share of struggles last season, and the Saints felt like it was time.

For Philly, Roby provides proven depth for them. James Bradberry is their starter at nickelback, and Roby will not start over him while he is healthy. Roby will battle with Mario Goodrich if he is placed in the slot for the Eagles.

It will be interesting to see if this move pays off for Philadelphia. If it does, the Saints will be frustrated for sure.
