The Atlanta Falcons are just an hour away from kicking off their regular season at home against the Carolina Panthers.
However, they will be without a key offensive player in running back Cordarrelle Patterson.
Here is the full list of players who won't play against Carolina:
- CB Jeff Okudah
- CB Mike Hughes,
- OL Jovaughn Gwyn
- WR Josh Ali
- RB Cordarrelle Patterson
- TE John FitzPatrick
- QB Logan Woodside (will dress as an emergency QB)
Patterson, who was listed as the 'Joker' on the Falcons depth chart, had been dealing with a thigh injury and was limited in practice all week. That means it will be rookie Bijan Robinson's show–the Falcons' 2023 first-round pick.
As for Okudah, he did not practice all week while he rehabbed an ankle injury, so his absence is no surprise.
Hughes is the biggest surprise on the list. He practiced all week and was not on the team's injury report, despite dealing with a hip flexor injury during the preseason.
Woodside will be dressed, but he won't see any action unless both Ridder and backup Taylor Heinicke are injured during the game.
