The New York Giants' struggles have continued throughout this season, and that means mock drafts will be plentiful until next spring. In a recent scenario, the Giants take a different avenue than in many others.

What happens if New York does not land a round one quarterback?

Giants miss on early QBs

Even with a top five pick, New York does not land a new quarterback in round one of Ryan Roberts' latest mock draft. It was two rounds worth of selections from Roberts.

5. New York Giants: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

The Giants need a quarterback, but the board just did not fall in their favor in the first round. They instead opt for Graham, who is arguably the top overall player in this class. Graham is a high upside run defender with really underrated penetration skills. — Ryan Roberts

Graham would only add to one of the most talented defensive lines in football.

A duo of Graham and Dexter Lawrence would cause chaos for opposing offenses. This was clearly a "BPA" pick for the Giants, too. That signals best player available at the time of their pick.

Many draft analysts think Graham deserves to be a top three pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but QB needs could push him down the board. Don't expect that fall to be too far, though.

From a defensive perspective, there is no system that Graham can’t thrive in. While not the longest player of all time, his foot quickness and closing speed allows him to play from wider alignments at times. His raw power always him to also play more condensed, and work consistently at the point of attack.

Graham would be best served as a versatile three technique in a four-man front, utilizing his penetration upside. There aren’t many easier evaluations in the 2025 NFL Draft class than Graham. He has a future Pro Bowler written all over him. — Ryan Roberts

36. New York Giants: Carson Beck, QB, Georgia

They do grab a quarterback, though! Instead of taking the fourth QB off the board in round one, the Giants wait till day two and take Beck, the prospect who many felt was the top QB in this year's class before the college football season began.

Beck has seen some struggles this season, particularly with turnovers. That being said, he has one of the better arms in the class and has garnered plenty of trust with Georgia Bulldogs HC Kirby Smart and his staff.

The NFL has largely moved away from pocket passers, and it's even harder for those without elite arms to make it work at the next level. Beck played much better in 2023 than in 2024, but the signs were there that he was being overhyped as a first-round talent even then. It'll be difficult for Beck to be a standout NFL starter unless he can overhaul his reaction to pressure and improve his mental processing. He has to identify coverages almost flawlessly and get a stronger core to drive the ball more effectively. — Ian Valentino

How would you feel about this scenario, Giants fans? Should New York do whatever necessary to find their new starting QB early in round one? Can a second or third-round pick suffice instead?
