The Green Bay Packers saw star running back Aaron Jones return to the field on Thursday, as well as Christian Watson. But, the team was still very cautious with both players, as they were on pitch counts.
But, with 10 days off before the Monday Night Football matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Jones sees himself being "100% healthy" by the time kickoff rolls around.
"I feel like I'll be able to go out there against Vegas on Monday night and be 100%," Jones told reporters after the game.
Jones' production certainly aligned with a pitch count. He finished the game with just five carries for 18-yards and one catch for a loss of four yards. He didn't receive his first carry until 13:19 in the second quarter, when the Packers were already down, 24-3.
That was definitely a combination of the pitch count and game flow, but at the same time, the Packers were slow in getting Jones started back in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. And when they finally got him going, they started scoring points.
Funny how that works.
Either way, a 100% healthy Jones is something this team could certainly use. That, and the return of Elgton Jenkins. The Raiders defense may not be a scary unit, but it's clear the Packers offense needs some juice in order to avoid the slow starts we've seen the last few weeks.
Jones can provide just that. And it sounds like he'll be able to squeeze every last drop against the Raiders. But, we won't know that for sure until foot hits leather at 8:15pm ET.
Packers have an obvious coaching change to make after Lions loss
It’s crystal clear.
