On Tuesday, The Athletic put out a list that included a free agent that should be on each NFL team's "wish list" this offseason.
Their suggestion for the Green Bay Packers isn't one that will generate a lot of excitement, but it could be a key move for the team this offseason.
The Athletic thinks Baltimore Ravens guard Ben Powers should be at the top of Green Bay's wish list this offseason.
If Elgton Jenkins cashes in elsewhere as a free agent, the Packers will need to find a reliable starting guard. Powers has started at both guard positions for the Ravens over the past three seasons and entered the week ranked in the top 10 of ESPN’s run-block win rate for all guards — a plus if Green Bay is willing to lean further into a run-heavy attack. More to the point, he has a great name that sort of sounds made up. Good start to a conspiracy theory.

Thanks to Aaron Rodgers' big cap hit, plus other roster needs, there's a decent chance that Elgton Jenkins isn't back next season.
If that's the case, then Powers would be a solid option.
Powers grades out better as a run blocker than Jenkins, but Jenkins is much better in pass blocking.
If the Packers are looking to save money by letting Jenkins walk, they need to be prepared for a dip in pass protection. There's no way around it — either spend the cash or watch the play suffer a bit.
Green Bay will have plenty of options next season, but Powers will be a player to keep an eye on.
