The Green Bay Packers have a big game ahead of them on Sunday night. After two consecutive surprising wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions, an upset over the Kansas City Chiefs doesn't seem as absurd as it would a month ago.

But for that to happen, these five players will have to perform at a high level.

Jordan Love

Love could obviously be a player to watch for the Packers in every game this season, so I have tried to let him out of this list as much as possible. But this game is different. It's hard to beat a team led by Patrick Mahomes if your own quarterback doesn't play at a good level, but it's a special moment for Love because his first NFL start, two years ago, was exactly against the Chiefs.

It's a new chance for Jordan Love to show what he's become and how far he's gone in his development.

Last week's performance on national TV helped change the narrative around Love, and a big game against the Chiefs on primetime would consolidate his ascending status in Green Bay.

AJ Dillon

The Chiefs defense is third in dropback EPA, but it's 31st in rush EPA. That shows what the team's priority is, but also how an offense can exploit them. Dillon hasn't been efficient this year, and the offensive line's run blocking it's below average.

But in this particular game, the Packers will have to run better to have a chance for two reasons. First, they have to avoid third and longs, where Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo cooks with exotic designs. But also to sustain long drives and keep Mahomes off the field.

Jayden Reed

Second-year cornerback Trent McDuffie has been one of the best Chiefs defensive players this year, so the matchup in the slot against Jayden Reed will be fantastic to watch. Reed has been the Packers best playmaker, leading the team in receiving yards and establishing himself as a versatile weapon. He will face a tough matchup on Sunday night, and his success will tell a lot about what he can deliver for this offense beyond 2023.

Reed has handled a chest injury since last week, but he returned to practice on Friday and will most likely be available to play.

Rashan Gary

For the Packers defense to have a chance against the dangerous Chiefs offense, they have to apply quick pressure on Patrick Mahomes. And Chiefs' left tackle Donovan Smith is responsible for 29.3% of his team's allowed pressures, the fourth worst mark in the league. Rashan Gary will face him most of the time, and it's a big matchup advantage for the Packers.

Gary has been highly productive this year, with 40 total pressures and 8.5 sacks. He had three last week against the Lions, and was a big reason for the win. He has to be that again at Lambeau Field.

Darnell Savage

The Packers will cover Travis Kelce with different players depending on where the star tight end will run his routes. But as a safety, Darnell Savage is expected to cover him on deeper concepts. First of all, Savage has to be available — he's still on injured reserve, but was designated to return and has practiced this week.

It's a particularly important game for Savage to play, because even with his shortcomings, the former first-round pick is still the best cover safety on the Packers roster. And against Kelce this is imperative.
