The Green Bay Packers have a big hole on their roster at the wide receiver position after trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders last week.

Trading Adams wasn't ideal, but the Packers didn't have a choice. Adams was ready to move on from Green Bay. Trading him was the only option. Fortunately, the Packers were able to get a couple of premier draft picks in exchange for the star wide receiver.

Green Bay obviously needs to add some wide receivers to the roster. The Packers don't really have a true No. 1 wide receiver on the roster after the Adams trade (Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Malik Taylor, and Amari Rodgers are the four wide receivers for now).

Unfortunately for Green Bay, there aren't a lot of free-agent options available at this point.

There's one option, however, that's intriguing. And could end up being a massive steal.

Odell Beckham Jr is still a free agent, likely because of the torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl in February.

Beckham's value isn't nearly as high as it was back in late 2016 when he was coming off three straight 1,300-yard seasons to start his NFL career.

The former LSU star was hurt in 2017 and then traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2018 where his production suffered. OBJ was released this past season amid some Instagram drama. He quickly signed with the Los Angeles Rams where he proved he's still a quality wide receiver.

Beckham had 25 receptions for 316 yards and two touchdowns with the Rams in the playoffs this past postseason. He was on pace for a big game in the Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals (2 receptions for 52 yards in the first half) before tearing his ACL.

If the Packers signed OBJ, they'd still need to add another wide receiver — Beckham likely won't be ready to return to the field until late November at the earliest.

But imagine Aaron Rodgers having a player like Beckham — who still has some of the best hands in the NFL — for a playoff run? OBJ could be a massive difference-maker in a playoff game.

Beckham should be relatively cheap. Maybe the Packers could sign him to a two-year deal with an easy out after the first year.

It would be a fairly low-risk move with the potential for a huge payoff in December, January, and February — when the games really count.

This would absolutely be a shrewd move by the Green Bay front office. I'm not sure how much longer Rodgers is going to play in the NFL. The Packers can't waste any time trying to win another Super Bowl with the future Hall of Famer.

When a player of OBJ's caliber is out there and he's cheap, it's a move that has to be made. It would almost be silly to not consider signing the talented wide receiver.
