The Green Bay Packers are in a precarious position going into Sunday Night. They take on the first place Philadelphia Eagles, and at vulnerable time for them.

Since the bye week, the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season and have been dangerously close to losing more.

The NFC North is in flux. Minnesota is 1-1 in their last two, exposing some vulnerabilities against the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. The Detroit Lions saw their three-game win streak end in a heartbreaker. To top it off, the Chicago Bears could potentially play without QB Justin Fields for an undetermined amount of time, just as he is starting to take off.

For Philadelphia, the Cowboys, Giants and Commanders are all lurking. Seeing Philly's vulnerable sides since the bye week. Including a sick key in their offensive cog. Pro Bowl WR AJ Brown.

Brown has missed practices since Thursday, dealing with a stomach illness. However, he is still expected to play.

This is all good news for the Green Bay Packers and their defense, including CB Jaire Alexander. A shut down player who continues to welcome the opposing team's X-receiver on a weekly basis.

On the season, Brown has 49 catches for 785 yards and six touchdowns. Four games with 80+ receiving yards on the season.

Across from him is Alexander. On the season, he has three interceptions (career high) and 10 pass breakups through 10 games (fifth in the NFL). As well as allowing 70+ receiving yards only once (73) all season, and a 58% completion percentage, 17th in the NFL among players targeted on 50 or more attempts.

It remains to be seen just how effective Brown will be on Sunday. Regardless, the matchup was already one that Alexander has shown he can win. A hampered Eagles team with a sick WR1 is the type of let down the Green Bay Packers can't afford not to take advantage of.
