News broke on Tuesday morning, via Pat McAfee, that Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Green Bay Packers in 2022.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Rodgers has a four-year deal with the Packers worth $200 million.
McAfee, who has directly talked with Rodgers, pushed back against that contract number on Tuesday, tweeting "This is false" in response to Rapoport's tweet.
According to McAfee, there isn't a contract in place yet. But when there is a contract in place, it'll be a salary cap-friendly deal that helps Green Bay improve their roster.
"He would like his people back so the Packers can go on another run," said McAfee during his show on Tuesday.
The headline of Rodgers' return seems to be the contract figure. Even though it can help the Packers clear some cap space, that $50 million a year still stands out.

I don't think Rodgers, who cares deeply about his legacy, thought the headline would be the contract number. I think Rodgers thought the headline would be a "cap-friendly deal".
Rapoport has good sources on the team side of things. I tend to think his report about Rodgers' contract will end up being accurate (or at least it was accurate when he tweeted it).
I'm guessing Rodgers doesn't like that the contract has become the narrative. So he's pushing back against it via McAfee.
"That (money) is not what this is about at all," said McAfee.
Rodgers is essentially speaking through McAfee. And on Tuesday, McAfee talked a lot about Rodgers caring about his teammates, his legacy, winning in Green Bay, and not wanting to be labeled as selfish.
The Packers quarterback is just going to have to take an L on this. And honestly, it's not a big deal. This is his last big contract. And he's won two straight NFL MVP awards. No one thought he was going to sign for pennies on the dollar.
Rodgers lost control of the narrative when he made this a month-long saga. He just has to deal with the fallout at this point and go on about his day.
