Most of the focus right now when it comes to the Green Bay Packers is on superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Will Rodgers play for the Packers in 2023? Will he retire? Or will he be traded to the New York Jets?

While the Packers need to know Rodgers' plans as soon as possible, they also have other free-agent scenarios to think about.

Green Bay could use some upgrades at various positions, including the defensive line.

That's why Pro Football Network is predicting that the Packers will sign one of the top free agents available this spring.

PFN has Green Bay landing defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones in free agency.

From PFN: The Packers love defenders who can do a little bit of everything along the defensive line. Dre’Mont Jones fits that bill perfectly. He can play anywhere from the B gap all the way out to a wide-9, and he’s proven to be one of the better interior rushers in the NFL. They need even more help than that on the defensive side of the ball, but finding a starting-level replacement for Dean Lowry should be priority No. 1.

Jones is going to have a competitive market. Several teams are expected to be in the mix to land the talented interior defensive lineman which could lead to a bidding war.

The Packers aren't in great shape when it comes to cap space. They have some moves they can make to create some more cap space, but they're just pushing the bill down the road — which isn't usually wise.

If Green Bay trades Rodgers, they'll add $8 million in cap space in 2023.

I wouldn't expect the Packers to sign Jones if the bidding gets out of control. There's no doubt he'd be a good fit in Green Bay, but I'm not sure the finances will make sense for the Packers.
