The Green Bay Packers lost Tyler Davis to an ACL tear against the Cincinnati Bengals and while his name may not be as well-known as his some of his teammates' names, he's an important player who led the team in special teams snaps last year.
The Packers have to find a way to replace Davis' 346 special teams snaps and it's not as easy as it sounds. Davis either tied or led the team in snaps on all coverage teams outside of the field goal blocking team and he tied for the third-most special teams tackles with seven in 2022.
There's one potential name out there who could come in and help fill the void, however, and that's former Texans/Jets/Bears tight end, Ryan Griffin.
Griffin has plenty of special teams experience throughout his career and that's evidenced by the 1,408 snaps he's amassed since 2013. That includes the 175 snaps registered with the Bears, last year. Griffin has mostly been a depth player throughout his career, as well, so it's not like he's going to come in and shake things up in regards to Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft.
And, Griffin played in Luke Getsy's offense last year, so there would be familiarity, as well.
The Packers will have 89 players on their roster after they put Davis on IR. It wouldn't be a bad idea to take a look at Griffin and see what he can do.

The defense needs to have a big year and the Packers defensive coordinator knows it.
