The Green Bay Packers got quarterback Aaron Rodgers some help on Thursday.
Green Bay is reportedly signing veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins to a one-year deal.
The Packers badly needed to sign a wide receiver after trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders (for draft picks) and letting Marquez Valdes-Scantling walk in free agency.
Watkins obviously won't replace Adams, but he's a solid veteran that will provide Rodgers with another offensive weapon.

The former Clemson star most recently played for the Baltimore Ravens. He's also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, and Buffalo Bills (Watkins was originally drafted by the Bills with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft).
Watkins' best season came in 2015 when he caught 60 passes for 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Packers still need to draft another wide receiver, but Watkins will provide stability to a wide receiver group that suffered some significant losses this offseason.
