Another day, another blockbuster trade in the NFL.
On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs traded star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks, including the No. 29 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The New York Jets also had an offer on the table for Hill, though their offer was less lucrative (it started with the No. 35 overall pick in the draft). And Hill preferred to play in Miami.
Interestingly, the Green Bay Packers actually checked in on Hill this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Obviously, the discussion with the Chiefs didn't get very far, but it's still notable that Green Bay checked in on Hill.
Especially since Hill has now surpassed Davante Adams, who was just traded from the Packers, as the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.
Green Bay was willing to pay Adams more than the Raiders offered.
Adams, however, was simply ready to move on from the Packers.
This could mean, though, that Green Bay is interested in making another splash this offseason if it makes sense — specifically at wide receiver. There aren't a lot of options left on the free-agent market, but maybe Green Bay could pull off a completely random trade (I mean, this Hill trade came out of absolutely nowhere).
The way this NFL offseason has gone, nothing would surprise me.
