Packers make last-minute decision on Josh Jacobs and other questionable players before the Cardinals game
Green Bay had listed seven players as questionable to be on the field against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Albeit the injury scare, running back Josh Jacobs is officially active and will play for the Green Bay Packers against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The offensive weapon was listed as questionable and considered a true game-time decision, but is healthy enough to play.
Jacobs has been handling an illness since last week, but the bigger reason for concern was an ankle injury added to the report on Friday. The Packers had to elevate Pierre Strong Jr. from practice squad for gameday on Saturday as a precautionary measure, but Jacobs will give it a go anyway — even though it’s uncertain if he will have his normal workload.
Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks are the backup options at running back.

More positive updates
Both Packers’ boundary cornerbacks, Keisean Nixon and Nate Hobbs, will be active.
Hobbs was added to the injury report on Friday because of a knee injury. He had already missed the preseason and the first regular season game against the Detroit Lions because of another knee issue. The Packers’ top cornerback, Keisean Nixon practiced regularly throughout the entire week, but was added to the report on Saturday with an illness. Despite the issues, both are good to go.
Right tackle Zach Tom is also active, even though he has had a tough start to his season because of an oblique injury suffered in Week 1. He returned last week versus the Bengals, but said after the game that he was in so much pain that he couldn’t remember the second half.
Interior offensive lineman Jacob Monk is back. The second-year player suffered a hamstring injury in preseason, which forced him to miss the first five games of the regular season on injured reserve. He had been practicing over the last two weeks, though, and the Packers officially activated him from IR on Saturday.
Wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is also up, despite his ankle injury.
Not so good news
Kicker Brandon McManus suffered a quad injury in practice last week and missed the Cincinnati Bengals game. The veteran ended up not practicing whatsoever ahead of the Cardinals game, an early indication that recently-signed Lucas Havrisik would play his second game for the Packers. Backup tackle Anthony Belton has handled an ankle injury and will miss another game as well.
On Friday, the Packers had already ruled out wide receiver Christian Watson (knee), edge defender Lukas Van Ness (foot), and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (knee). Watson is not on the inactive list because he’s still on the physically unable to perform list.
