The Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions 27-13 on Sunday, but it wasn’t without a lot of physical effort. And as always, that has a price. Several players left the game with injuries, and you can see the result of that in a short week.

Because the Packers play on Thursday against the Washington Commanders, the team had to release its first injury report on Monday. The list brings some reasons for concern, even though it’s just an estimation since the Packers did not actually practice on Monday.

Offensive line in trouble

Two starting offensive linemen wouldn’t have practiced on Monday. Right tackle Zach Tom left the game on Sunday with an oblique injury, while left guard Aaron Banks is handling ankle and groin injuries. Missing two pieces of the line would stress the depth, with last year’s first-rounder Jordan Morgan in one spot, and Darian Kinnard or Anthony Belton in the other.

ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported that Tom is doing tests and will see how his treatment goes, but right now his availability for Thursday is uncertain.

More DNPs and limited players

The other players who wouldn’t practice are edge defender Brenton Cox (groin), cornerback Bo Melton (shoulder), and wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot). Linebacker Quay Walker (quad) was added to the list later as a DNP as well.

There are several others with a designation of limited participants: Safety Zayne Anderson (knee), wide receiver Matthew Golden (ankle), cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), edge defender Micah Parsons (back), edge defender Barryn Sorrell (knee), and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (calf).

Quarterback Jordan Love (left thumb) and punter Daniel Whelan (right knee) are listed, but as full participants.

Positive updates

Center Elgton Jenkins (hip) and wide receiver Savion Williams (hamstring), who spent last week on the injury report ahead of the Lions game, are not even listed now, which is great news for their physical situation.

On the Commanders, the only player with a DNP designation is punter Tress Way, who’s handling a back injury. However, quarterback Jayden Daniels has a wrist injury, being estimated as a full participant.
