Jordan Love has a golden opportunity to explode against Cowboys’ defense that suddenly looks vulnerable without Micah Parsons
Green Bay should have a favorable matchup.
Micah Parsons spent four seasons on the Dallas Cowboys. During that period, the defense was first with Parsons on the field and 32nd without him. Well, you could predict what would happen after his trade to the Green Bay Packers, and it has completely materialized as expected.
On Sunday, the beneficiaries could be exactly the Packers, who acquired Parsons and are trying to have a bounce-back offensive performance.
While Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said this week that he’s got “as much respect for [Matt Eberflus] as almost anybody in this league,” the former Chicago Bears head coach and current Cowboys defensive coordinator has had serious issues to build an efficient unit.
Jordan Love has a chance to go nuclear
Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been in or close to the top 10 for most categories this season, and he had two strong games against the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders. It wasn’t as inspiring versus the Cleveland Browns, but overall Love has a 110.1 passer rating, is sixth in adjusted EPA/play, and 11th in success rate.
Based on how opposing quarterbacks performed versus the Cowboys so far, it’s not absurd to project another good outing.
Based on this QBR stat, the Cowboys defense is transforming Bryce Youngs in Lamar Jacksons. After what transpired in Cleveland, it would be refreshing to score a lot of points in Dallas.

While the Cowboys’ run stop win rate is good, basically any other metric indicates that Dallas’ defense is struggling everywhere. Even other run defense metrics show a problem, but the pass defense overall, combining the inability to create pressure and problems in coverage, is what negatively stands out the most.
It should be a great night for Jordan Love, and the Packers’ offense has to take advantage of this opportunity to show what it’s made of.
