Jordan Love has a scary moment at the worst possible time as the Packers cannot afford to lose more key players
Packers quarterback Jordan Love was evaluated for a possible concussion.
It’s been an impossibly tough sequence for the Green Bay Packers over the past two weeks. And now, quarterback Jordan Love is the one involved.
During the second quarter of the Chicago Bears game on Saturday night, Love suffered a huge blow to the head on sack. It was a 15-yard penalty keeping the drive alive, but the starting quarterback left the game and was checked for a potential concussion. At first, Love went to the blue tent. Then, he headed to the locker room for more tests. During halftime, Jordan Love was ruled out with a concussion.
Backup Malik Willis entered the game at quarterback, and the Packers don’t have an active third QB — Clayton Tune is on the practice squad, so he can’t serve as the emergency quarterback.
More and more injuries
Last week against the Denver Broncos, edge defender Micah Parsons tore his ACL and is out for the season. Against the Bears, the Packers are also without right tackle Zach Tom and safety Evan Williams, with knee injuries, and tight end Josh Whyle, who had suffered a concussion last week.
It’s just a terrible situation for the Packers, since they’ve already lost tight end Tucker Kraft and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt to season-ending injuries. The team is fighting hard, but at some point there are too many injuries to great players to overcome.
Jordan Love has certainly been much healthier this year compared to his 2024 season. Last year, the quarterback had to handle knee, groin, and elbow injuries — and was limited at practice for most of the regular season.
In 2025, Love did suffer a left shoulder injury during the New York Giants game, but he managed to return and didn’t miss any games because of it.
A concussion is obviously worrisome, and it might affect his availability moving forward — the Packers play the Baltimore Ravens next Saturday in Week 17.
