Things are getting better and better for quarterback Jordan Love. After an initial fear in Brazil about what his injury would be and the relief that it wasn't season-ending, there's now hope that the Green Bay Packers franchise player can be back on the field even sooner than projected.

When Jordan Love was diagnosed with an MCL sprain, the initial reports indicated that the quarterback would miss three to six weeks — the expectation was that Love would be able to play sooner rather than later in that timeframe.

However, it feels like Love will be back even sooner. On Wednesday, the quarterback returned to practice. He said after the activity that he is day to day.

Now, ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the quarterback really is getting ready to play. This bodes well for his chances of playing against the Tennessee Titans, but if it doesn't happen, there's a good shot of Love playing in week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings.

"I'm going to take the week and just take it day by day and see how it feels," Love said in the locker room after practice. "I'm not going to make any decisions right now. I'm hopeful that I can get to that point where I can get in there, but we're just going to take it day by day."

The recovery time for MCL sprains depends on how serious the injury was. Based on when the Packers are treating it, the injury is probably a grade 2, and that varies from two to four weeks. On Friday, it will be exactly two weeks since Love got hurt in the final minute of the Packers loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

Jordan Love didn't practice last week, leading to backup Malik Willis playing against the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday. The Packers won, improving their record to 1-1 in the regular season.

"He was limited," head coach Matt LaFleur said multiple times when asked about how much Love had done on Wednesday. "It's always great to have your quarterback out there. But we'll see how he progresses throughout the course of the week."

Green Bay still practices twice more this week, and the Packers have to release an injury report to inform if Love played full, limited, or not whatsoever. On Friday, they have to project an injury status for him — last week, he was initially listed as questionable, but later downgraded to doubtful on Saturday.
