Green Bay Packers rookie kicker Anders Carlson's inconsistencies continued on Thursday and coincidentally, former Packers kicker Mason Crosby tweeted out a video all but saying he wants to play football in 2023.

"It's always dad season, but gotta keep preparing for football season, too," says Crosby right before he drills a field goal.

The Packers fan base is already divided on Carlson and Crosby's video is only going to crank the heat up even more. But, the coaching staff, as well as GM Brian Gutekunst, point to Carlson's perseverance as one of his strongest traits, so he should be able to pull through.

The Packers have also been clear about Carlson's long leash and they seem to be willing to ride the ebbs-and-flows that are bound to come. Case in point: He made 5-of-6 kicks on Thursday, but made just two of his six attempts on Tuesday. This comes after making all three attempts against the New England Patriots.

It'll be interesting to see how long Carlson's leash is during the regular season, though. He's made 67% of his kicks since the Patriots game, which is obviously nowhere near even acceptable numbers in the NFL.

With Crosby hanging around and keeping in shape, Carlson needs to find the consistency he lacks and he needs to do it quick. I'm certainly not affiliated with anyone in the Packers front office or on the coaching staff, but I'm willing to bet the rookie won't last long if he is making kicks at that clip during the first few weeks of the season.
