It’s good to have star players. On Thanksgiving, the Green Bay Packers’ biggest stars, Jordan Love and Micah Parsons, delivered on a big stage, playing at the highest of levels to secure a 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions, sweeping the divisional rivals this season.

After the game, they finally celebrated by eating some Turkey and talking to the FOX broadcast. The edge defender, who had 2.5 sacks, gave the quarterback his credit after a monster performance.

“I think Jordan was on fire all night to put us in this position,” Parsons said. “And we just got a chance where we had to end the game, and I think that’s just what we do best. When teams gotta throw the ball, get out the tricks, and we just rush. We can do a lot of good things.”

Jordan Love is always amazing on Thanksgiving

This is Love’s third season as a starter, his third Thanksgiving game, and the third great performance leading the Packers to a win. Green Bay beat the Detroit Lions in 2023 and 2025, and the Miami Dolphins in the night game last year.

In these three games, Love completed 67.7 percent of the passes for 776 yards, nine touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 127.8 passer rating.

“That’s what we needed,” Love said. “We knew what was going to be coming into it, what kind of matchup it was going to be, it’s going to be man coverage.”

The Lions, in fact, used a lot of man coverage, and the Packers beat it consistently in the passing game. Love finished the game with a 124.2 passer rating, four touchdown passes, while Dontayvion Wicks (94 yards, two TDs) and Christian Watson (80 yards, TD) led the receivers.

The defense wasn’t nearly as consistent, but Parsons was the star, making it happen on the other side. He had 2.5 sacks, including two big ones in the fourth quarter.

To compete for the Super Bowl, a team has to have its stars playing well. On Thursday, that’s exactly what the Packers got from Love and Parsons.
