I don't know if the Green Bay Packers will make a trade before the deadline — though I think they probably will — but there's one roster move that seems all but guaranteed to happen this upcoming week.

Wide receiver Amari Rodgers likely sealed his fate on Sunday.

Rodgers was already an afterthought in the offense. And on Sunday, he muffed yet another punt in the Packers' game against the Washington Commanders. Rodgers now has five fumbles since the start of the 2021 season.

If the Packers wouldn't have used a third-round pick to draft Rodgers in 2021, he'd already be gone.

The former Clemson standout has been a complete bust. He brings nothing to the offense and he's a liability on special teams. At this point, his roster spot is being wasted.

Green Bay almost certainly won't get anything for him in a trade, so they might as well release him and free up a roster spot (a trade or maybe signing Odell Beckham Jr).

Rodgers, simply put, makes the team worse.

The Packers shouldn't be afraid to move on just because they used a third-round pick on Rodgers. Draft busts happen to every team.

We've talked about Rodgers a lot this season. But I think this is finally the end of the line for him in Green Bay. Maybe he can catch on with the Jacksonville Jaguars and reunite with Trevor Lawrence, his quarterback at Clemson.
