The Green Bay Packers started the week with eight draft picks.

After Thursday, the Packers have 10 selections in the 2023 NFL Draft.

And Green Bay didn't even have to make a trade for it to happen.

The NFL handed out 2023 compensatory draft picks this week and the Packers were given two additional picks.

Green Bay now has the No. 170 overall selection (fifth round) and the No. 256 overall pick (seventh round).

The Packers were awarded the comp picks because they lost Lucas Patrick, Chandler Sullivan, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency last year.

Green Bay has now had 49 compensatory picks since 1994, which is the third most in the NFL during that time span (behind the Dallas Cowboys with 52 and the Baltimore Ravens with 55).
