When the Green Bay Packers were 4-8 in late November, not many folks thought they had a shot at the playoffs.

But just over a month later, the Packers are 8-8 and all they need is a win against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night to make the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Green Bay is in this position because they've reeled off four straight wins. Their most recent win was a 41-17 thrashing of the Minnesota Vikings.

Because of the Packers' recent hot streak, Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young, who is an analyst for ESPN, thinks Green Bay might be the best team in the NFC.

"You can make a case for the Packers being the best team in the NFC," said Young. "Forget about the record…how could you not see the talent that they have?"

A couple of weeks ago, Young would've been laughed off the internet for this take.

But with the Eagles looking mortal sans Jalen Hurts (his status is still up in the air) and the Vikings sputtering to end the season, there's a real argument to be made that Green Bay is the team no one wants to play in the NFC right now.

That's the Aaron Rodgers effect. Love him or hate him, you never count an Aaron Rodgers-led team out. He might be nearing the end of his career, but he's still one of the best to ever do it. And when the game is on the line, he's still the guy I'd trust to lead a team on a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter.
