For the second consecutive year, the Green Bay Packers are losing their quarterbacks coach. This time around, though, there isn’t an obvious succession plan. A year after taking the job, Sean Mannion is headed to the Philadelphia Eagles as a play-calling offensive coordinator. It’s a meteoric rise for Mannion, who spent the past two seasons in Green Bay — first as an offensive assistant, then promoted to quarterbacks coach.

Now, head coach Matt LaFleur will have to look inside and outside the building to find the ideal replacement.

These are seven possibilities for the Packers.

Luke Getsy, Packers senior offensive assistant

Getsy has a strong connection with Jordan Love, because he was Love’s first quarterbacks coach in the NFL. Getsy was the Packers’ QBs coach from 2019 to 2021, including the final two seasons as a passing game coordinator as well. After failed OC stints for the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders, he returned to Green Bay — first as a defensive consultant, then as a senior assistant on offense.

Connor Lewis, Packers pass game specialist/game management

This is not as likely, but Lewis has Matt LaFleur’s trust and worked closely with Love as an assistant quarterbacks coach for three seasons.

Tom Clements, former Packers quarterbacks coach

Clements has retired from coaching twice, so this is unlikely. But he was willing to return to the Packers back in 2022 and stayed for three years. Clements has a close connection with LaFleur, so if there’s one coach who could convince the veteran, it’s Green Bay’s.

Rob Calabrese, Rams offensive assistant

Calabrese has a lot of NFL experience and worked with Aaron Rodgers on the Jets. He’s been a Rams offensive assistant for the past two years, including Matthew Stafford’s MVP-caliber season in 2025, and he knows the system pretty well.

Darrell Bevell, Dolphins quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator

If the Packers want experience and Clements doesn’t want to return, Bevell is one of the top options, even though he’s still with the Dolphins at the moment. He’s been Brett Favre’s quarterbacks coach from 2003 to 2005, under Mike Sherman, and that was his first NFL experience. Since then, he’s been an OC for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He had interim HC stints with the Lions and Jaguars, and has been with the Dolphins since 2022 with a similar scheme under Mike McDaniel.

Joe Graves, 49ers offensive assistant/quarterbacks

Graves is younger and brings a different perspective, as a former assistant offensive line coach. In 2025, he was promoted by Kyle Shanahan to work under quarterbacks coach Mick Lombardi, and helped both Brock Purdy and Mac Jones to have strong seasons. The scheme familiarity is obvious.

Brian Griese, former 49ers quarterbacks coach

Nathaniel Hackett was initially on this list, but he’s head to the Miami Dolphins as a quarterbacks coach. So we replaced him with Griese, who played in the NFL for a decade and spent three years under Kyle Shanahan as the 49ers quarterbacks coach helping develop Brock Purdy.
