While one may initially scoff at that announcement, it's important to remember that some very good players have come through the avenues of the UDFA wire, so to speak. Names like Kurt Warner, Warren Moon, John Randle, Tony Romo, Wes Welker, Antonio Gates, Drew Pearson, Jason Peters, and many, many more were UDFAs before creating their NFL legacies.

Sapp III is the son of former NFL player, Benny Sapp, who played eight seasons in the NFL and recorded six interceptions over the course of 110 games that included 27 starts. Heath actually led the Rebels in receptions (60), receiving yards (971), and tied second-round 2023 draft pick Jonathan Mingo for the team lead in touchdown receptions (5).
