The Green Bay Packers won nine games in 2023 and 11 last year in the regular season. Amid the official release of the 2025 NFL Schedule, it’s fair to expect another playoff run for the team this season.

The regular season kicks off hot, with two tough games against the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders at home—it’s the first time since 2018 that the Packers play their regular season opener at Lambeau Field. Then, Green Bay will have nine away games and six home games for the rest of the year.

Let’s go game by game and try to predict what the 2025 Packers season will look like.

Week 1, vs. Detroit Lions

The Lions are still a good team, with a complete roster. They are strong upfront, which makes it a physical battle. It’s hard to expect the Packers to win both games after losing five of the last six.

Projection: Loss (0-1)

Week 2, vs. Washington Commanders

This is a potentially significant matchup in the NFC playoff race, especially after the Packers and Commanders competed for the sixth seed until the end in 2024. A Jordan Love-Jayden Daniels matchup is exciting, but the Packers’ model seems more sustainable.

Projection: Win (1-1)

Week 3, at Cleveland Browns

The Browns have one of the worst and most depressing quarterback situations in all of football.

Projection: Win (2-1)

Week 4, at Dallas Cowboys

The Packers love to play in Jerry Jones’ World. They won a Super Bowl and multiple games over the Cowboys there, including under Matt LaFleur. Moreover, I would take LaFleur over Brian Schottenheimer any day of the week.

Projection: Win (3-1)

Week 5, Bye

Week 6, vs. Cincinnati Bengals

This is also a big challenge for Jeff Hafley’s defense, but the Packers offense has the tools to put up big points against a mediocre defense—at least based on what they showed last season.

Projection: Win (4-1)

Week 7, at Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are well-coached, but the roster still lacks talent. Barring an exceptional development from guys like Marvin Harrison, the Packers should be better.

Projection: Win (5-1)

Week 8, at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are always tough, and this will be a special game if the team signs quarterback Aaron Rodgers. As he proved against Mike McCarthy, he likes to win the big revenge games. Back in the day, Brett Favre won his first two games for the Minnesota Vikings against the Packers, so we have to respect this unfortunate tradition.

Projection: Loss (5-2)

Week 9, vs. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are in earlier stages of their roster-building process. So while it’s fair to expect some type of development in 2025, it’s probably not enough to put them among the top NFC teams.

Projection: Win (6-2)

Week 10, vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles overwhelmed the Packers in the playoffs with the incredible talent they had. And they did the same with everyone else. Until proven otherwise, the Eagles are the favorites to win this Monday Night Football battle.

Projection: Loss (6-3)

Week 11, at New York Giants

The first question is how the Giants’ quarterback will be by then, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, or Jaxson Dart. The answer is it probably doesn’t matter, and the Packers have the better team anyway.

Projection: Win (7-3)

Week 12, vs. Minnesota Vikings

Packers and Vikings have a fun recent history of back and forth, even though the Vikings won both games last year. Curiously, where the game happens doesn’t matter as much, with some Packers wins in Minnesota and Vikings victories at Lambeau.

Projection: Loss (7-4)

Week 13, at Detroit Lions

The Lions lost both of their coordinators this offseason. And while Dan Campbell deserves respect as a head coach, losing Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn would be a tough pill to swallow for anyone. Eventually, some bad process decisions will also catch up.

Projection: Win (8-4)

Week 14, vs. Chicago Bears

The Packers lost to the Bears at Lambeau Field in Week 18, but that was a meaningless game with Malik Willis playing most of it at quarterback. If there was a big mistake, it was the decision to play starters in the first place. For the most part, the Packers have been extremely successful against Chicago under Matt LaFleur, and until proven otherwise, there’s no reason to believe it will change.

Projection: Win (9-4)

Week 15, at Denver Broncos

The Broncos present a big challenge. With a great defense and a top offensive mind in Sean Payton, they might pull off this one. Two years ago, a lesser version of the Broncos beat a lesser version of the Packers.

Projection: Loss (9-5)

Week 16, at Chicago Bears

That will be a special Saturday game late in the season. Presumably, the Bears will get better if things work well under Ben Johnson, but the Packers still probably have the better roster.

Projection: Win (10-5)

Week 17, vs. Baltimore Ravens

Even though this is a Lambeau Field game, it’s a truly tough matchup for the Packers. If there’s one area where Jeff Hafley hasn’t had success as an NFL defensive coordinator, it’s in games against mobile quarterbacks, and Lamar Jackson is one of the best at it.

Projection: Loss (10-6)

Week 18, at Minnesota Vikings

Later in the season, JJ McCarthy will possibly be playing better, but the Packers might be too with their new offensive weapons. The Packers finished the season slow in 2024, and a win to close out the regular season would be huge.

Projection: Win (11-6)
