GREEN BAY – If you're a fan of the Packers, then odds are you know who Allen Lazard is.

Outside of Titletown, probably not so much.

But that's OK. Because according to NFL.com's Adam Rank, plenty of people will know Lazard after his breakout season in 2022.

"There is a guy on that team, right now, named Allen Lazard, who I think is going to have a breakout season," Rank recently said on NFL Network's NFL Total Access. "And if you're going to dismiss him for what he's done over the last couple of years: I invite you to go look and see what Davante Adams did in his first couple of years.

"When I look at the Packers, their top-2 target-getters will be Lazard and Aaron Jones at running back."

Lazard is definitely in line for a big year

2022 could very well define Lazard's career trajectory.

He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2023, which means he'll be able to sign with any team that desires his services. A big year would certainly move Lazard's name toward the top of the receiver list, which based off this offseason, will earn him some serious cash.

Regardless, there's something to be said about Lazard's role on this team. Randall Cobb has the most familiarity with Aaron Rodgers, but Lazard is definitely No. 2 in regard to familiarity.

And not only will that familiarity help Lazard become a factor, his versatility will, as well.

Per Pro Football Focus, 52.5% of Lazards 2021 targets came out of the slot, where he recorded four receiving touchdowns, which tied for seventh-most in the NFL. Lazard did damage on the outside, as well, recording 212 yards and four touchdowns. And don't forget the dirty work Lazard does in the run game.

All of these factors will lead to a lot of playing time in 2022, which will definitely lead to more opportunities. Lazard's game is perfectly tailored to what the strengths of the Packers offense will be in 2022, which puts him in line for a big year.
