The Green Bay Packers are in the middle of the process to replace defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Head coach Matt LaFleur are doing interviews and has to be compliant to the Rooney Rule before making a hire.

Below, check out who the Packers have interviewed so far — the article will always be updated when a new interview is reported.

Interviewed candidates (or interview request):

Brandon Staley, former Los Angeles Chargers head coach

Staley was the first interview made by head coach Matt LaFleur. He has been an NFL defensive coordinator just for one season, leading the Los Angeles Rams to the first place in defensive DVOA in 2020. Then, he was hired by the Los Angeles Chargers as a head coach and couldn't replicate the success. Joe Barry worked under Staley for the Rams, and they both run the same scheme.

Aden Durde, Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach

Durde is a former NFL and minor leagues player. He started his coaching career in 2018 as an Atlanta Falcons defensive quality control. He was promoted to outside linebackers coach in 2020, and has been the Cowboys DL coach since 2021.

Report: Todd Archer (ESPN)

Bobby Babich, Buffalo Bills linebackers coach

Update: Babich has been promoted to defensive coordinator by the Bills, so he's out of the Packers process.

Babich has been in the NFL since 2011, going through multiple teams and positions. He worked for the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns before being hired by the Bills in 2017. He had been an assistant DBs coach and safeties coach, and has been the linebackers coach since 2022.

Christian Parker, Denver Broncos defensive backs coach

Parker started his coaching career in 2013 and had his first NFL job with the Packers. He stayed two seasons in Green Bay (2019 and 2020) under Matt LaFleur and Mike Pettine as a defensive quality control coach. He's been the Broncos DBs coach since 2021 under three different defensive staffs: Vic Fangio/Ed Donatell, Ejiro Evero, and Vance Joseph.

Report: Ian Rapoport (NFL Network)

Dennard Wilson, Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach

Wilson is an experienced NFL person. He was a Washington player in 2004, even though he didn't make a regular season roster, and worked for the Chicago Bears as a pro scout from 2008 to 2011. Wilson started his coaching career in 2012, as a St. Louis Rams defensive quality control coach. He's had experiences for the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles as defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator. He was hired by the Ravens in 2023 as a DBs coach and spent the season working under Mike MacDonald. It's an interesting structure, because Baltimore also has Chris Hewitt as a pass game coordinator and secondary coach.

Report: Ian Rapoport (NFL Network)

Zach Orr, Baltimore Ravens inside linebackers coach

Orr played for the Ravens between 2014 and 2016. He was a Second-Team All-Pro in his last year, but a neck/spine condition forced him into retirement.

Immediately thereafter, Baltimore hired him as a defensive analyst, a position he held for four years. In 2021, he went to the Jacksonville Jaguars as an outside linebackers coach, but he returned to the Ravens in 2022 under Mike Macdonald as the ILBs coach.
