De'Vondre Campbell earned a first-team All-Pro nod with the Green Bay Packers and had one of the better stretches in his career from 2021-2023, but that quickly ended when the team released him a few days ago.

It was a combination of many things, mainly Campbell's salary, age, and recent injury history that caused him to miss a combined 10 games over the last two years.

He wasn't happy about the move and that was made apparent when he wrote on Instagram, "Someone is about to get a great football player that was badly misused."

Things really hit the fan on Sunday morning when someone tweeted a snide post taking aim at Campbell's "misused" comment, causing Campbell to not only respond, but drag former Packers defensive coordinator, Joe Barry, in the process.

The exchange is all over Campbell's Twitter/X feed, but below are some screenshots since, you know, these things tend to get deleted in time.

Good on Campbell for defending himself and there's nothing wrong with a player speaking up, but at this point, it seems a bit unnecessary. He's gone and he's already found a new team in the San Francisco 49ers. It'd be a bit different if Campbell was still looking for a job, but another team showed him the respect he obviously believes is missing from the Packers organization.

At the same time, these guys are some of the most, if not the most, competitive people in the world. So it always makes sense when they speak up like this, it's just a bit wiser to make sure you're not unnecessarily dragging people in the process. Plus, everyone knew just how bad Joe Barry was – it wasn't a secret. There's not much point in kicking a man while he's down.
