The Green Bay Packers cornerback depth was stressed against the Minnesota Vikings, and it showed problems. But there’s a solid chance it won’t be the case against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Carrington Valentine practiced again on Friday, keeping the trend of the week.
"(Jaire) is getting better," head coach Matt LaFleur said. "I'll leave it at that."
They are both listed as questionable, so the final answer will only come ninety minutes ahead of the game in Southern California.
But the chances are higher than they were last week, when Alexander and Valentine didn’t practice on Friday.
Packers injury report

Jaire Alexander suffered a groin injury on Thursday last week, in addition to a quad injury he was already handling. Now, he’s only listed with his groin issue, but Matt LaFleur said it’s not a long-term problem.
Carrington Valentine missed the last two games with an ankle injury, and the fact that he practiced all week is a good indication of his availability.
Pass-catching problems
For the second day in a row, wide receiver Romeo Doubs didn’t practice because of a personal matter. On Thursday, Matt LaFleur said he hoped Doubs would be back on Friday, but that didn’t happen.
“It was personal,” LaFleur said, without clarifying if Doubs could miss the game. “We will take it one day at a time.”
On Friday, LaFleur said that the situation is still considering "day to day." He is listed as doubtful, so he's unlikely to play.
That’s particularly problematic because Christian Watson is also doubtful. He has an ankle injury, reported as a high-ankle sprain, and is expected to miss a week or so. Tight end Luke Musgrave is also questionable with an ankle injury.
Injury report
The Packers listed off-ball linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hip), guard Jordan Morgan (shoulder), and left guard Elgton Jenkins (knee) are also questionable to play.
Beyond those issues, Green Bay will have quarterback Jordan Love (knee) and defensive tackle Kenny Clark (toe), as they have been taken off the injury report and are good to go.
Defensive tackle Jonathan Ford, who is designated for return from injured reserve with a calf injury, practiced all week. However, it’s not certain if the Packers will move him to the 53-man roster. They have a 21-day window since he returned to practice on Wednesday to make a final call.
