The Green Bay Packers had eight draft picks, but those are not the only rookies with opportunities to make the 53-man roster. The team also signed ten undrafted free agents, and some will compete for spots—on the active roster, yes, but also on the practice squad.

The most obvious trait in all of these players is positional versatility—especially among defensive backs and offensive linemen.

DB Johnathan Baldwin, UNLV

Baldwin was mostly a safety at UNLV, but the Packers announced his signing to the cornerback room, which means they expect him to be a nickel. Moreover, the Packers guaranteed him $150k, including a $15k signing bonus, and indication that they expect him to at least make the practice squad. A second-team All-Mountain West last season, he had three interceptions and 3.5 sacks.

RB Amar Johnson, South Dakota State

A solid depth option, Johnson adds value as a positive runner and strong pass protector. As a sênior at SDSU, Johnson was extremely productive. He had 1,222 rushing yards, 14 touchdowns, and averaged 6.4 yards per carry. The weapon also added 30 receptions, 233 receiving yards, and a touchdown catch to his résumé.

LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Kentucky

An All-American at Georgia in 2022, and he played three seasons there before transferring to Kentucky last year. Good at run defense and with the ability to pass rush as a blitzer, Dumas-Johnson has a tougher time as a coverage backer. He also adds value as a potential special teamer.

DT Nazir Stackhouse, Georgia

Stackhouse is the best value out of the Packers undrafted free agent class, as he was perceived by some as a fifth-round prospect. A nose tackle and run-stuffer, he started three seasons at Georgia and played alongside Packers' sixth-round pick defensive tackle Warren Brinson. Even though Nazir Stackhouse isn't a prolific pass rusher, he is a stout run defender. According to PFF, he registered an 83.1 run defense grade in his final college season.

G Tyler Cooper, Minnesota

Even though the Packers don't love to draft true college guards, the addition makes more sense as a UDFA. Cooper was prolific as a run blocker and decent at pass protection. Primarily a left guard, he also had right guard experience—and in a pinch, a few snaps at both tackle spots in 2024.

T Brant Banks, Rice

Banks is a tal developmental tackle, who also has a track record as a tight end in his career. He's light by NFL standards with 306 pounds, but this is still heavier than Zach Tom. His background as an offensive skill position player shows he can move well to block in space.

G J.J. Lippe, Northern Illinois

Lippe was a First-Team All-MAC in 2024 as a left guard, and he also had a few snaps at right tackle. His calling card is the run block, and he's from Milwaukee.

RB Jalen White, Georgia Southern

White played five college seasons and finished it with 36 rushing touchdowns, including 13 last year. Besides being a powerful redzone runner, White is an intriguing fit to Matt LaFleur's system because of his ability to identify a defensive hole and attack it fast.

CB Tyron Herring, Delaware

As a zone defender, Herring can read and react fast to tackle. He played three seasons at Dartmouth College and then transferred in 2023 to Delaware, where he was a second-team All-CAA last year. At Delaware, he had 72 tackles, four interceptions, 11 passes defensed, 3.5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery throughout two seasons.

CB Kahzir Brown, Florida Atlantic

A big corner with 6'1, 223 pounds, Brown had two interceptions and two tackles for loss last season. Before playing at FAU, he spent three seasons at Maine with six total interceptions.
