The Green Bay Packers made a tough decision on Sunday ahead of their matchup with the New England Patriots, but it was the right call.

Green Bay cornerback Jaire Alexander was listed among the Packers' inactives on Sunday.

Alexander is dealing with a groin injury.

According to USA TODAY's Ryan Wood, Alexander is healthy enough to play against the Patriots. The Packers, however, decided to be extra cautious with Alexander.

That's absolutely the right call by Green Bay. It's still very early in the season and there's no reason to risk losing Alexander for an extended period of time. Sure, he's a player they could use against New England, but it's much more important to have him for the remainder of the season.

The Packers should still have the advantage against the Patriots on Sunday. It's a game that Green Bay should win with or without Alexander on the field.
