The topic of the Green Bay Packers and their receivers will rage on through the 2022 season, no matter what happens.
But maybe, just maybe, the talk will die down if they sign a big name or trade for one before or during the season. Who knows, though? If they sign a big name, then expectations will rise for that player and the receivers, as a whole. Which sparks an entirely new conversation.
Regardless, there's a chance at finding out if that holds true or not, according to Las Vegas. Per Bookie.com, the Packers have the best odds at landing seven-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Fame receiver Julio Jones.
Green Bay currently sits at (+325), which is higher than the second-place Indianapolis Colts (+350) and third-place Dallas Cowboys (+550).
In non-gambling terms: The Packers have a 23.5% chance at signing Jones before Week 1. The Colts have a 22.2% chance and the Cowboys have a 15.4% chance.
Jones certainly isn't the player he once was, but he doesn't need to be that type of player in Green Bay. As long as he comes rather cheap, it's a fit that both makes sense and one that would add some much-needed depth in the receiver room.
Plus, who doesn't want to see Aaron Rodgers potentially throw a 60-yard touchdown to Jones? That in itself is worth the gamble, at the end of the day.
