Head coach Matt LaFleur has added another piece to the Green Bay Packers coaching staff. According to 247 Sports, the team hired UAB offensive line coach Eddie Gordon to be the new assistant offensive line coach in Green Bay.

At UAB, Gordon spent one season under former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who's now a college head coach.

"We are so lucky to get Eddie Gordon to join our staff here at UAB," Dilfer said early last year. "Eddie was instrumental in the development of two national championship offensive lines. He is wildly respected in the offensive line community and was a key part of Georgia's success over the past few years."

Eddie Gordon spent three seasons (2019-2021) as a graduate assistant at Georgia, helping primarily the offensive line. In 2022, he was promoted to offensive quality control coach. He started his coaching career at Louisiana, in 2017, as an offensive line graduate assistant. Gordon even had an executive experience, working as a director of player development, besides a role as assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2018.

Staff

The Packers will have an offensive coaching staff full of offensive line specialists. First of all, coordinator Adam Stenavich was the line coach from 2019 to 2021. The staff also has OL coach Luke Butkus and assistant offensive line coach Ryan Mahaffey — who at least until the moment has been retained.

Matt LaFleur hasn't made big offensive staff changes, but he has added several minor developmental pieces. Besides Eddie Gordon, the team hired former quarterback Sean Mannion as an offensive assistant and former Packers wide receiver Myles White to work as an assistant wide receivers coach.
