The Green Bay Packers won't have the two players listed as questionable to play versus the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Safety Rudy Ford (calf) and off-ball linebacker Quay Walker (groin) are officially out.
Both players got injured during the week. Ford appeared on the injury report on Thursday — first as a limited participant, and then he missed the entire activity on Friday. Walker was fine until Friday, when he didn't practice because of a groin issue.
The Packers have a bigger issue at safety, because fellow starter Darnell Savage is on the injured reserve, also because of a calf injury. Therefore, veteran Jonathan Owens and rookie seventh-rounder Anthony Johnson Jr. are expected to start.
At linebacker, the presumed starters will be De'Vondre Campbell and Isaiah McDuffie. Special teamer Eric Wilson is an alternative.
Offense at full strength
On offense, everyone on the 53-man roster will be available — that includes starting running back Aaron Jones, who didn't even have a designation for this game, even though he practiced the entire week with a red non-contact jersey.
"He had a good week, a great attitude", head coach Matt LaFleur said. "Ready to cut him loose."
Inactives
Since trading Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, the Packers are with 52 players on the roster. On Saturday, they elevated defensive back Innis Gaines for gameday. With that, they needed to have five players inactive for Sunday.
Beyond Ford and Walker, there are three healthy scratches: wide receiver Samori Toure, offensive tackle Caleb Jones, and edge Brenton Cox.
It will be the first game for safety Zayne Anderson, who was claimed by the Packers right before week 1 and had been inactive in every game this season.
- LB Quay Walker
- S Rudy Ford
- LB Brenton Cox Jr.
- T Caleb Jones
- WR Samori Toure
Other side
Quarterback Matthew Stafford is officially inactive because of a thumb injury. Therefore, Brett Rypien will be the starter for the Rams.
