The Green Bay Packers arrived back in Wisconsin on Saturday morning and remained hopeful that the injury to quarterback Jordan Love was not too severe. With some speculating about a potential ACL injury, the highest-paid quarterback in the National Football League received some good news about his knee injury.
Love did not suffer an injury to his ACL, but rather his MCL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
This isn't perfect news for the Packers but avoiding potential disaster is a win. MCL injuries have different levels of severity. Love could be out anywhere from 2-4 weeks or upward of 6-8. A torn MCL like the one suffered by Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb is an 8+ month recovery time.
The Packers will do more tests on Love before determining a course of action in regard to a potential stink on injured reserve. The schedule for the Packers over the next few weeks is as follows:
Week 2: vs. Indianapolis
Week 3: at Tennessee
Week 4: vs. Minnesota
Week 5: at Los Angeles Rams
The Packers do have a bye in week 10, which could play a factor in how soon Love comes back.
