All eyes were going to be on Green Bay Packers wideout Romeo Doubs throughout the week leading up to the matchup with the Chicago Bears, but now a big chunk of that attention will be on Christian Watson.

That's because Watson joined Doubs on the Packers' sideline during Wednesday's practice, which was the first official practice ahead of Week 1's important matchup.

It's a development that was completely unexpected heading into the week. There was no previous buzz or suspicion surrounding Watson and any kind of injury. So, holding Watson out could be more a precautionary move, than anything.

We'll provide more updates once Packers head coach Matt LaFleur speaks with the media after practice.

Update: After practice, LaFleur was coy when asked about the level of concern for both players' injuries.

"Like we always say, we'll give them the week and see where they're at," he said.

Now, it's all about what happens on Thursday. All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari didn't practice on Wednesday, either, but that was part of the "fluid" plan that LaFleur has referenced all offseason. In other news, Rashan Gary and rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks were limited in practice. The plan is for Gary to be on a pitch count against the Bears. It remains to be seen what happens with Wicks if he remains limited throughout the week and into Sunday.

Per Packers.com, Watson's injury is a hamstring injury. Rookie safety Anthony Johnson Jr. was also listed on the report, but was a full participant in Wednesday's practice:
