The Green Bay Packers will be without multiple starters against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. As expected, cornerback Jaire Alexander, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, and wide receiver Romeo Doubs have been ruled out.
However, there is one extra concerning piece of news. Josh Myers has a pectoral injury and has been listed as questionable to play. Hopefully he will be available, because he was designated as a full participant in Wednesday's estimation.
If Myers can't play, though, it will be hard to replace him. Unlike what happened against the Detroit Lions, first-round rookie Jordan Morgan can't enter the lineup now because he is on injured reserve. A likely option would be to play Zach Tom at center, putting Kadeem Telfort or Andre Dillard at right tackle.
Against the Lions, Elgton Jenkins moved to center, with Morgan playing at left guard. So another alternative would be to play Kadeem Telfort at left guard, with Jenkins moving inside once again.
Tight end John FitzPatrick and linebacker Isaiah McDuffie are also questionable to play.
Who's out
Wide receiver Romeo Doubs will need more time to get back. He suffered a concussion and left the San Francisco 49ers game in the first half after trying to make a catch in the endzone. He is still in the protocol and missed practice throughout the week. On Thursday, Doubs will be kept out.
Without Doubs, the Packers are expected to start Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, and Dontayvion Wicks at wide receiver. The other options on the active roster are Malik Heath and Bo Melton.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander will miss his fifth game of the season. The former All-Pro has handled a knee injury for a month, since the Jacksonville Jaguars game, and has been ruled out for the Thanksgiving matchup with the Dolphins. It's a PCL injury for Alexander. He tried to play through it two weeks ago against the Chicago Bears, but was limited and aggravated the injury.
Rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper injured his hamstring at practice last week and will miss his second consecutive game because of it. He didn't practice this week, even though it's not expected to be a long-term injury.
Who's questionable
To make things worse at the linebacker position, the Packers have Isaiah McDuffie as questionable to play. He would have missed practice (via estimation) with an ankle injury on Monday and Tuesday, but was limited on Wednesday.
Besides Cooper and McDuffie, the Packers only have Quay Walker, Eric Wilson, and Ty'Ron Hopper available at the position. On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings signed Jamin Davis off the Packers' practice squad.
Tight end John FitzPatrick played a season-high 14 offensive snaps against the 49ers, but it will be tough for him to replicate that. He was listed as DNP on Monday and Tuesday, but limited on Wednesday as well. Since Luke Musgrave is still on injured reserve, the Packers options at the position on the 53-man roster are Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims. Green Bay still has Messiah Swinson on the practice squad.
Josh Myers is listed with a pec injury. He was limited on Monday and Tuesday, but on Wednesday he was upgraded to a full participant. That's a good sign that he might be available.
Left tackle Rasheed Walker (knee) is off the injury report and available to play. Defensive tackle Kenny Clark, running back Josh Jacobs, and left guard Elgton Jenkins were also on the injury report, but only for veteran rest, so they will be good to go. The same applies to safety Xavier McKinney, who missed Tuesday's practice for personal reasons.
Other side
The Miami Dolphins have ruled out linebacker Tyus Bowser (knee/calf), cornerback Kendall Fuller (concussion), and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. (hamstring). Left tackle Terron Armstead practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday after missing the activities on Monday and Tuesday. Officially, he is listed as questionable to play.
