Packers carry a lingering offensive concern into the Bears game as the playoffs get underway
Right tackle Zach Tom is officially listed as questionable to play against the Chicago Bears.
On Tuesday, Green Bay Packers head coach said he expected right tackle Zach Tom to play on Saturday against the Chicago Bears. The tone wasn’t as positive on Thursday, saying “we’ll see” after informing that Tom would rest and therefore not practice in the final activity ahead of the playoff game.
On the final injury report, Zach Tom is officially listed as questionable to play. Tom is dealing with back and knee injuries, but it’s the knee issue that has made the offensive lineman miss part of the Denver Broncos game in Week 15 and the final three games of the regular season.
“That would be a huge get,” LaFleur said on Tuesday, asked about the offensive impact if Tom returns. “He’s our most consistent offensive lineman and one of the best in the league at his position, so that would definitely be a boost.”
Zach Tom has had a tough season injury-wise, missing five total games. He played 598 regular season snaps — Darian Kinnard played 213, Jordan Morgan played 148, and Anthony Belton played 86 at right tackle in 2025. Morgan started at right tackle against the Baltimore Ravens, and he would probably be the top option if Tom isn’t ready — Kinnard played versus the Minnesota Vikings in the regular season finale just because Morgan moved to the left side for a meaningless game.
More Packers’ injury updates
In addition to Zach Tom, the Packers listed five other players as questionable — safety Javon Bullard (knee), defensive tackle Warren Brinson (foot), linebacker/special teamer Nick Niemann (pectoral), wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (concussion), and backup quarterback Malik Willis (right shoulder/hamstring).
Defensive tackle Warren Brinson (foot), linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (shoulder), wide receiver Matthew Golden (Achilles), edge defender Lukas Van Ness (foot), and guard Aaron Banks (rest) are all off the injury report and are expected to play.
Other side
The Chicago Bears ruled out three players for the wild card round, all of them with concussions — defensive back C.J. Gardner Johnson, linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, and edge defender Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Defensive back Kyler Gordon (groin) and offensive tackle Braxton Jones (knee) are questionable.
