Packers Injury Tracker: Return from the bye week could bring impactful updates for Green Bay
It’s a big week for Green Bay.
Early byes tend to be a problem for NFL teams, as a long road is still ahead in the regular season. But it’s hard to argue that the week off came at a perfect time for the Green Bay Packers. After a sequence of underwhelming games against the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys, the Packers needed time to regroup, especially to get some key players back.
The Packers play at Lambeau Field next week, following two road games, against the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals. For that game, help could be on the way. So, let’s take a look at Green Bay’s injury situation around the roster.
Packers injury tracker
DT Devonte Wyatt (knee) — Head coach Matt LaFleur indicated that Wyatt is week-to-week with a knee injury he suffered in Dallas. The Packers did not specify what injury it is, but he will likely miss the Bengals game. He wasn’t at practice on Monday.
RT Zach Tom (oblique) — Tom didn’t re-aggravate his oblique injury versus the Browns; he just wasn’t ready to play. That’s good news because, after missing the Cowboys game and the bye, he has a good shot at returning. He was at practice to start the week.
LG Aaron Banks (groin) — Banks has had multiple injuries since training camp, most recently a groin issue against the Browns. Practice throughout this week will be a strong factor in determining his status for Sunday, and he was at practice on Monday as well.
T Anthony Belton (ankle) — LaFleur indicated that it wasn’t a long-term issue for Belton, even though he wasn’t available to face the Cowboys. But he wasn’t on the field to start the preparation, an indication that he might miss more time.
WR Christian Watson (knee) — He’s still on PUP, but has been activated to practice this week. LaFleur left the door open for this possibility. Green Bay has opened a 21-day practice window for the receiver, and now it has three weeks to put him back on the 53-man roster.
C Jacob Monk (hamstring) — Monk suffered a hamstring injury in the preseason and, after missing a month of action, he should be good to go soon. The Packers have two open roster spots, and Monk had his 21-day practice window opened as well.
RB MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) — Lloyd has barely played in the NFL due to injuries, and the most recent one was his hamstring during a preseason game. He’s also expected to return soon, and Green Bay will likely give him time to be fully healthy. Lloyd is on IR with a designation for return.
EDGE Collin Oliver (hamstring) — The fifth-round rookie missed his first NFL training camp due to a hamstring injury. Now, it’s a question of how soon he can be acclimated to the defense. Coming off PUP, the Packers would have that 21-day practice window if needed.
WR Jayden Reed — The wide receiver broke his collarbone in Week 2. He will be eligible to return from IR in Week 8, but realistically, he’s expected to miss more time and return in mid-November.
EDGE Brenton Cox Jr. — He was placed on IR with a groin injury suffered in the first game, so he’s eligible to return in Week 7. The bye week doesn’t count, since he has to miss four games, not four weeks of action. He can’t play versus the Bengals, but could return against the Arizona Cardinals.
G John Williams — The rookie has a back issue, and general manager Brian Gutekunst said in training camp that it was a longer-term problem. It’s unclear when, or if, Williams plays as a rookie.
T Travis Glover — Glover suffered a serious shoulder injury and was placed on season-ending injured reserve before the regular season, which means he is only eligible to play again in 2026.
Other players were also on the injury report in Week 4 ahead of the Cowboys game, but it wasn’t serious enough to make them miss games.
