The Green Bay Packers really need to bounce back from an awful loss and beat the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5. One way to go about doing that is getting some injured players back on the field.
That's exactly what happened on Tuesday when Pro Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins returned to practice. Jenkins missed the last two games due to an MCL sprain he suffered against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2.
The Packers offensive line was exposed against the Lions and part of the problems laid at the feet of Royce Newman, Jenkins' replacement. Newman has struggled in his two starts since taking over for Jenkins, so it's easy to see why a potential return would be a big development.
"Everything's on the table," Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said when asked if the team is looking at alternative options at left guard. "Every week, we're going to evaluate what is best for our offense. And we have a few guys that are pretty versatile. So we have the luxury to look at all those options."
The Packers also activated cornerback Eric Stokes' 21-day practice window. So, the clock is now ticking on his potential return. If Stokes isn't cleared to play by the end of his window, he'll revert back to the PUP, where he'll remain for the rest of the year unless the team moves him to IR.
