A great Packer is done with the NFL. After 17 seasons in the league, kicker Mason Crosby announced his official retirement from football during his own podcast "Kicking With The Crosbys."
"I played 258 straight regular season games. And honestly I haven't really looked at it and reflected on that too often," Crosby said. "Whenever I really look back, that's something I think I'm the most proud of."
A sixth-round pick in 2007, Crosby played for the Packers until 2022. In that time, he played 258 regular season games and 23 playoff games. He was a part of the 2010 Super Bowl-winning roster. As a rookie, Crosby was the scoring leader.
The kicker is the leader in career scoring in Packers history by a large margin. He scored 1,918 points, and the second place is kicker Ryan Longwell with 1,054 points. The best non-specialist is Don Hutson, with 825 points.
After the Packers allowed Mason Crosby to leave in free agency in 2023, he signed but didn't play for the Los Angeles Rams. He ended up signing with the New York Giants, where he played his final three games in 2023. This past season, Crosby remained unsigned throughout the year.
Now that Mason Crosby has retired, the last remaining player of that Super Bowl roster who is still active in the NFL is quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who's under contract with the New York Jets.
