It appears the Jordan Love era is about to officially begin for the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers and the New York Jets have reportedly agreed to terms on a deal that will send future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to The Big Apple.

The end of the Rodgers era and the beginning of the Love era brings a lot of excitement as well as a lot of uncertainty. Can Love excel as a starter in the NFL? Or is he just a placeholder until the Packers find their next Hall-of-Fame quarterback?

Those are questions that can't be answered just yet. And that's okay. Packers fans just need to sit back and enjoy this ride — wherever it ends up going.

That's not my advice, by the way. That's straight from Green Bay offensive lineman David Bakhtiari.

"We're moving on from a Hall of Fame quarterback. I literally today talked to Jordan (Love) about this," said Bakhtiari recently on Mike Silver's "Open Mike" podcast. "I'm like, 'The Packers rebuilt from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers.' What are we going to say? It's not a rebuild? Like, that is what that is. And that's totally fine. I'm not saying that we're going to be bad. I'm not saying we're going to be good. I don't know and that's the beauty. No one really knows how good they are. We start the season, everyone is batting 1.000. No one has any losses. No one has any wins. And let the season play out however it may be."

He's right. There is no crystal ball that lets us know how this season will play out for Green Bay. And there's no magic wand that the Packers can wave that will guarantee the franchise finds success with Love under center.

Fans simply have to let the 2023 season play out. Maybe it goes well and Love leads Green Bay back to the playoffs. Or maybe it's a complete disaster and the Packers are looking for another quarterback in the draft next year. Either way, it's a new era for Green Bay and that should be exciting for fans. Who knows, the Packers could be on the verge of their best stretch of football yet.
