The Green Bay Packers' preseason starts Friday night when Jordan Love and co. take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Paycor Stadium.
There are plenty of questions surrounding the Packers heading into 2023 and for good reason. The team has ditched the Aaron Rodgers era and the Love era is officially underway – that's obviously the biggest storyline for the team. However, there are plenty of other questions at receiver, tight end, on the offensive line, on the defensive line, and at safety. Among others.
We won't get any concrete answers to those questions on Friday, but we will certainly get an idea of what this team could look like in 2023.
And either way – we have real football back on our TVs. That in itself is plenty of reason to be excited.

How does Jordan Love look?
This game is not going to define Love's season, by any means. So, it's important to take the overall performance with a grain of salt.
The things to look for is how effective is he getting his guys in and out of the huddle? How does he perform on third downs? Is the ball placement in the right areas?
Little things like that will give us a better indication of where the first-year signal-caller is in his development.
Will Anders Carlson hit his kicks?
Special teams is probably the one area where we can come away with concrete assessments and a lot of eyes will be on Carlson.
The rookie has been a lot better since going 2-of-7 in a recent Saturday practice, but he's still had misses. Albeit the majority of them have been long distance attempts, so there's room for interpretation. Either way, Carlson needs to show that he can be relied on the vast majority of the time – not just every now and then.
4 players to keep an eye on (that aren't Jordan Love)
- WR Jayden Reed: He's made some big plays during camp and is a great fit for Matt LaFleur's offense.
- RT Zach Tom: The second-year offensive lineman is poised for a big year and will be key in helping the o-line improve in 2023.
- DB Innis Gaines: He's had a strong camp and is the team's backup nickel. The team has plenty of outside options at corner, but there isn't a clear option if Keisean Nixon goes down. Gaines can be that insurance.
- DL Colby Wooden: Another rookie who has a lot of potential in terms of his 2023 role. Wooden can be a matchup problem on obvious passing downs, so his development is huge when it comes to boosting the Packers pass rush.
