The Green Bay Packers have a lot of questions to answer in 2023, but it's clear the team's confidence is unwavering as the summer days drag on.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of the confidence is coming from the team's veterans and best players. Star running back Aaron Jones recently made his thoughts clear on expectations for this year, as did All-Pro returner Keisean Nixon. Even third-year center Josh Myers has his own thoughts and expectations for 2023.
"I think that this team has expectations to win," Myers recently told reporters. "Not only do we expect to – we plan to. We'll see how that pans out… but the tradition here is to win and that's not changing."
Add two-time Pro Bowler, Elgton Jenkins to the mix of Packers vets who aren't backing down, as well.
"Winning the division is always the standard," Jenkins said on the most recent episode of Good Morning Football. "It's always the standard in our locker room and our building. We feel like we're the best division and we're going to go out there every week, wherever, and show them that we're the best team in the division and the best team in the NFC."
Jenkins is coming off his second Pro Bowl nod and will man the left side of the offensive line with All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari. They easily form one of the NFL's best OL duos and both will play a big role in how the Packers offense performs. To have a resounding vote of confidence like this will go a long way toward building the team's confidence, as a whole.
As long as the Packers have their core vets on the same page about the expectations that come with suiting up in the green and gold, this team should be competitive, at worst, in 2023.
Packers G Elgton Jenkins has high expectations for two key rookies
He is very excited about what they can do.
