The Green Bay Packers still don't know if they will have their starting quarterback on Sunday for the huge NFC North matchup against the Detroit Lions. But even though Jordan Love did not practice on Wednesday, the quarterback will do everything he can to be on the field.

"Definitely I'm feeling better," Love said in the locker room. "I think every day there will be some improvements to it. But definitely it feels better than it did on Sunday."

Jordan Love said there is a real shot for him to be available. Even if it means the suboptimal scenario of playing without any practice throughout the week.

"I think it's realistic," Love mentioned. "I mean, obviously not practicing during the week is not the ideal format for trying to play the game. But things happen, so if that's the scenario, I know I'll be fine. But it's definitely not the ideal scenario going into a big week."

Jordan Love injured his groin during the first drive of the Jacksonville Jaguars game last Sunday. He tried to play through it, but couldn't after the initial moments of the third quarter on, so backup Malik Willis finished the game and led the Packers to a 30-27 victory.

Head coach Matt LaFleur said that no decision on Love will be made right now, and the team will evaluate the situation over the next few days.

"He's moving around better," LaFleur pointed out. "We'll push the envelope with that. I know he wants to play. We'll see where he's at at the end of the week."

The game against the Detroit Lions is a big one because the winner will be the NFC North leader. Green Bay is 6-2 right now, and Detroit, who has already had a bye week, is 6-1.

Other side

Jordan Love is not the only quarterback of the Packers-Lions matchup handling an injury. Jared Goff didn't practice on Wednesday either because of a rolled ankle.

Goff said he will practice on Thursday, though, so the Lions' expectation is that their starting quarterback will be good to go at Lambeau Field.
