Green Bay Packers edge rusher Rashan Gary has lived up to his first-round billing in four seasons with the team. While Packers fans are well aware of Gary’s impact in the trenches, it’s refreshing to see the national media come around on the Michigan product.
Gary was on pace for a career year in 2022 before a torn ACL derailed his season in November. He finished the season with six sacks in nine games, but was able to prove that he’s one of the best players at his position in his injury-shortened campaign.
Pro Football Focus is the latest national media outlet to put stock into Gary’s improvement over the last couple of seasons. In 25 games over the last two years, Gary has compiled 79 tackles, 15.5 sacks, 40 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles.
PFF just recently released its list of the Top-32 edge rushers in football, and Packers fans won’t have to scroll too far down to find Gary at No. 8.
From PFF: Gary missed time last season, but over the past two years, he ranks sixth in pass-rush grade (90.2), fourth in pass-rush win percentage (19.7%) and second in pass-rush productivity.
As for Gary’s road to recovery, he is trending in the right direction after a recent update. If he’s able to make his return for a highly anticipated matchup with the Chicago Bears in Week 1, Gary should be able to climb even higher on this list with another efficient season.
